This document describes the methods and purposes of the processing, carried out through cookies, of the personal data of users (hereinafter the "Users" or "Data Subjects") who visit the website https://www.merakisportacceleration.it/ (the "Site").

For more information regarding other personal data processing operations performed on the Site, you can read the Site's Privacy Policy at the following link: https://www.merakisportacceleration.it/cookie-policy

1. Contact details of the Data Controller

The Data Controller is Meraki Sport Acceleration Srl, VAT No.: 14263670961, with registered office in MILAN, VIA Pietro Mascagni no. 30, phone: +39 328 579 9498, email address: info@merakisportacceleration.com and certified email: merakisport@pec.it (the “Owner”).

2. What are cookies?

2.1 Cookies are small text files that websites visited by a user automatically send to their terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored before being retransmitted to the same websites. They are generally used for various purposes: performing computer authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information about specific user configurations, storing preferences, etc.

2.2 Depending on the website or domain that installs the cookies, they can be classified as:

a) first-party cookies: installed on the user's terminal directly by the owner or operator of the website the user is visiting;

b) third-party cookies: installed via the website the user is visiting by owners of different websites or web servers.

2.3 Depending on the duration of cookies validity, they can be divided into:

a) session cookies: these are stored temporarily on the user's terminal until the end of the browser session. These cookies are usually necessary for the proper functioning of the site's applications and features;

b) persistent cookies: these remain stored on the user's terminal for a period of time longer than a single browsing session, depending on their function and the user's choices. Persistent cookies allow information to be retransferred to the web server each time the site is accessed.

2.4 Based on their purposes, cookies can be grouped into two main categories:

a) "technical" cookies, which, because they are strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user, do not require the user's consent, and without which some operations could not be performed or would be more complex and/or less secure; for this reason, they are installed automatically following access to the site; they include: (i) navigation cookies that guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, a purchase or authentication to access restricted areas), (ii) functionality cookies (which allow the user to navigate based on a series of selected criteria such as language);

b) "profiling" cookies, used to trace back to specific, identified or identifiable individuals, specific actions or recurring behavioral patterns in the use of the offered features (patterns) in order to group the different profiles within homogeneous clusters of varying sizes, so that the data controller can, among other things, also modulate the provision of the service in an increasingly personalized manner beyond what is strictly necessary for the provision of the service, as well as send targeted advertising messages, i.e., in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet; this category also includes so-called “social cookies,” that is, cookies from social networks, used in accordance with the relevant social network’s policies, as well as so-called “analytics cookies,” which are used to analyze access to and visits to the website and to enable the data controller to improve its structure, navigation logic, and content, to assess the effectiveness of a service provided, or to help measure “traffic,” meaning the number of visitors, possibly broken down by geographic area, time of connection, or other characteristics.

Analytics cookies are excluded from this category only where they can be treated as technical cookies, which is possible solely where: (i) their use is strictly limited to the production of aggregated statistics and they are used in relation to a single website or a single mobile application, so as not to allow tracking of a user’s navigation across different applications or websites; (ii) they are created and used directly by the first-party website or, if they are third-party cookies, appropriate measures are adopted to reduce their identifying power (by masking significant portions of the IP address); and (iii) contractual arrangements are in place between the website and third parties, expressly requiring the third party to use the cookies exclusively for the provision of the service, to store them separately, and not to “enrich” or “combine” them with other information in their possession, nor to transfer them to additional third parties.

3. Cookies Used on the Data Controller’s Website
